ISTANBUL (FIBA World Championship) - After lifting the Istanbul Cup at the weekend, Serbia got the better of Turkey again in a friendly in Istanbul.

Dusan Ivkovic’s side continued their outstanding series of preparation games for the FIBA World Championship with a 66-61 victory.

The key to victory was a big defensive effort in the second quarter as Turkey managed just four points, putting Serbia up 38-23 at half-time.

That lead would grow to 18 in the third period, and hard as Turkey tried to rally, the deficit was too great.

Aleksandar Rasic led a balanced Serbia attack with 13 points while Miroslav Raduljica had 12 and Milan Macvan 11 and 11 rebounds.

Ersan Ilyasova came up with 24 points for Turkey, while Oguz Asik added 12.
