BELGRADE (2010 FIBA World Championship) – Three players that will attend Serbia’s first training camp ahead of the FIBA World Championship are on the move.
National hopeful Dragan Milosavljevic has left Radnicki Kragujevac for Partizan Belgrade after signing a three-year contract with the Serbian and Adriatic League champions.
The 21-year-old guard one year ago played for Serbia at the U20 European Championship in Rhodes, Greece, and averaged 9.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists.
Stefan Markovic, the back-up point guard on last year’s national team that won a silver medal at the EuroBasket in Poland, has signed for Benetton Treviso on a two-year contract.
Markovic was voted as the best defender in Serbia’s top flight this season while on the books of Hemofarm Vrsac.
He is, according to Benetton, “a romantic” who is thrilled to be moving to Italy as he is a big fan of AC Milan.
Additionally, Benetton said on their website that the sports personality Markovic would most like to meet is football coach Jose Mourinho, though he’s arriving too late for that to happen with the Portuguese coach having left Inter Milan for Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Another Serbian that is switching clubs is Kosta Perovic, the Power Electronics Valencia center who played big minutes for Serbia last summer.
Regal Barcelona have announced on their website that Perovic has agreed in principle on a three-year contract and will sign once he has passed his medical.
Perovic played a vital role for Valencia the past two seasons.
He helped the club win the Eurocup this year.
