BELGRADE (Adriatic League) - The giants of Belgrade, Partizan and Red Star, are the only sides still undefeated four games into the Adriatic League.
Each claimed narrow wins on Saturday, with Svetislav Pesic's Red Star prevailing 82-81 at Vojvodina and Partizan clinching an 83-80 overtime success at home over Zadar.
A lay-up by Boris Bakic lifted Red Star to victory at Vojvodina. The home side had a chance to win but Marko Popovic was off target with the last shot of the game.
Vojvodina's Dejan Borovnjak led all scorers with 23 points with Popovic chipping in 18.
Vladimir Stimac scored 22 for Red Star.
Partizan won by a slender margin for the second straight week.
After edging Hemofarm by a point last time out, they returned to the Pionir in Belgrade and defeated Zadar 83-80.
The Croatians led 80-78 in the final minute before Milenko Tepic drilled a three-ball.
Dixon then missed from long range for Zadar, and Serbia international Tepic added two free throws for the three-point win.
Near the end of regulation, Stephane Lasme had made two free throws to leave the game knotted at 70-70.
Zadar called timeout and when play resumed, Todor Gecevski turned the ball over.
Lasme attempted a potential game-winning three-pointer but missed to force the extra period.
Dixon led all scorers with 23 points while Tepic finished with 20 for Partizan.
Victory slipped out of Hemofarm's grasp last week but they won 63-62 this week at Helios Domzale.
Vladan Vukosavljevic poured in 28 for Hemofarm to lead the way.
Krka lost at home to Union Olimpija 79-73, Split defeated visiting FMP 68-64, Cibona overcame Buducnost 84-73 and Bosna lost to road warriors Zagreb 71-69.
