SRB - Rakocevic clinches move to Tau

VITORIA (ACB) - Serbia & Montenegro captain Igor Rakocevic has left Real Madrid to join Spanish giants Tau Ceramica.

The 1.91 metre tall shooting guard agreed to end his contract with Madrid on Thursday and has been unveiled as the top signing of Tau this summer.

Rakocevic, 28, who will play at the FIBA World Championship in August in Japan, has penned a three-year deal with the Basque club.

"I am extremely happy to be here and to have joined such a prestigious club," said Rakocevic, who flew to Vitoria to be presented before returning to Belgrade to continue training with his national team.

"I think the club's ambitions are very similar to mine. I want to win titles and play in the Euroleague. I believe this is the best place in Europe to prove that I can help a team of such calibre."
