BELGRADE (Superleague) - Partizan and Hemofarm remain the only unbeaten teams in the Superleague after round three of the elite phase of the Serbian basketball championship.
Hemofarm produced a stunning performance to win 101-85 away at local rivals Red Star. Hemofarm shot 73% from two-point range and used 13 steals to pull away from their opponents.
Predrag Suput led Hemofarm with 24 points, closely followed by center Vladan Vukosavljevic who had 23.
Red Star wasted 28 points from Milan Gurovic as there was precious little support from his team-mates.
"We knew this match was more important to Red Star and with the right attitude we've exploited that," said Hemofarm coach Miroslav Nikolic.
"We've been smarter in defence, and shown we are a more organized and have more quality than our rivals."
Elsewhere, Partizan survived a late Sloga fightback, using late free throws from Predrag Drobnjak to clinch 86-83 victory in Kraljevo.
The hosts, led by Milos Bojovic's 24 points and 21 from Ivan Gemaljevic, were on the verge of magnificent comeback after trailing 27-13 in the first quarter, but were made to pay for missing free-throws in the last minute, as Drobnjak, Partizan's top scorer with 16 points, secured victory for the reigning champions in a nailbiting finale.
FMP claimed their second win of the season by beating Masinac 81-75, while Vojvodina joined them in second after an 83-69 defeat of Mega Ishrana.
