MADRID (2010 FIBA World Championship) – Novica Velickovic continued his rapid ascent to stardom with a magnificent November for Real Madrid. The Serbia international was so good that he has garnered the ACB's Player of the Month award.

The 23-year-old forward moved to Real from Partizan Belgrade in the summer to play for Italian coach Ettore Messina and has delivered big style, helping the Spanish giants to a 10-0 start in Spain’s top flight.

In November, he averaged 17.6 points and 7.4 rebounds per contest, with his finest performance coming in a game against DKV Joventut.

Velickovic had 29 points and 13 rebounds in that 84-70 Madrid triumph.

"Things are going well so far,” Velickovic said on the ACB’s website.

“I've started the season off on the right foot and am very happy about it.

"My hope is that Real Madrid play well and win. I'm just a cog in a group that wants to do great things this year and it is this group that I owe the beautiful award I just received.”

Velickovic will represent Serbia at the 2010 FIBA World Championship in Turkey.
