    ANTANANARIVO (FIBA Africa Championship for Women) – South Africa Sunday threw away an opportunity to keep its quarter-final hope alive when it gave up her early lead to surrender at 101-73 points at the buzzer.

    The South African side had took a slim 25-22 points lead in the first quarter while the Madagascan fought back in the second quarter to win by same margin of 18-15 points to even scores at 40 points apiece at half-time.

    Upon resumption of hostility after the break it was Madagascar all the way as they rattle the South African by 41-22 points to open up a 19 points lead going into the last quarter.

    Urged on by vociferous home fans the Madagascar side further widen the gap between them and the Orange ladies to pick the quarter by 20-11 points win for a final score-line of 101-73 points.

    Madagascar Tahinjanahary Rasoambolanoro scored a championship high of 32 points gave 8 assists and picked up 4 rebounds, team playmaker, Maiwenn Andriamilandy scored 25 points and grabbed 5 rebounds while Nahirae Solinasoa had 13 points and 9 rebounds.

    South Africa Emmerentia Mamotabo led her team with 13 points, Lungile Mtsweni added 11 points while Nosipho Njokweni grabbed 10 rebounds for her side big lose.
