    MOGADISHU (Somali Basketball Federation) – International basketball is in mourning following the death of former Somalia national team player and coach, Omar Mohamed Omar.

    Mohamed, 38, was killed in a car crash in England on Christmas day.

    He is survived by a wife and five children.

    Mohamed was a former captain of the national team.

    He took part in the Opening Ceremony of the Beijing Olympics last year.

    A 20-year-old man driving the other car that crashed into Mohamed was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
