BRATISLAVA (EuroBasket Women 2015) - Slovak Republic head coach Maros Kovacik has moved to the brink of his final selection for EuroBasket Women 2015 but is still sweating on the fitness of legendary veteran Zuzana Zirkova.

The play-caller opted to release two players over the weekend, with Terezia Palenikova and Angelika Slamova no longer under consideration, meaning his candidate list has been chopped down to just 13 names.

However, a foot injury which continues to plague Zirkova means that if she doesn't make it in time for the Final Round next month, the final roster of Kovacik has more or less been selected.

It would appear that the fate of Zirkova is in the hands of the medical team, who will make an assessment after giving her treatment this week.

The 34-year-old had returned to the side last summer after several years away from the national team and her experience will probably be required if the Slovakians want to get themselves out of the first round.

They do at least have the services of UMMC Ekaterinburg star Kristi Toliver to utilise ahead of her first taste of the prestigious competition.

Slovak Republic preliminary squad for EuroBasket Women 2015: Dominika Baburova, Barbora Balintova, Zofia Hruscakova, Beata Janoscikova, Anna Jurcenkova, Martina Kissova, Lucia Krc-Turbova, Zuzana Lazarova-Brezianova, Marta Palenikova, Katarina Tetemondova, Kristi Toliver, Romana Vynuchalova, Zuzana Zirkova.
