    SLO - Tough road to Chieti for Slovenia

    LJUBLJANA (EuroBasket Women) - Slovenia haven't given up hope of playing in next year's EuroBasket Women but after Saturday's draw for the additional qualifying tournament, their chances are looking grim.

    LJUBLJANA (EuroBasket Women) - Slovenia haven't given up hope of playing in next year's EuroBasket Women but after Saturday's draw for the additional qualifying tournament, their chances are looking grim.

    The national side was drawn against Poland and Finland, and Slovenia coach Boris Zrinski admitted after: "My wishes didn't come true.

    "We got the Polish team, and that doesn't suit us very much, as the Polish girls are tall.

    "That is also the case with the Finnish team.

    "Nevertheless, our goals remain the same. We must give it our best and try to finish in the first place in the group which can bring us a place in the
    final qualifying round.

    "It is also very important that we do not finish in the two last places in Division A, as that would mean we would get relegated into Division B.

    "But to tell the truth, we do not think about that so much. Our focus is on making everything to get into the European Championship.

    "It may be mission impossible, but ..."
