LJUBLJANA (Euroleague) – Slovenia national team veteran Goran Jagodnik of Union Olimpija has been named Euroleague MVP for October.
Jagodnik, 35, led Olimpija to a double-overtime triumph at home against Efes Pilsen in his team’s first game and then last week, he had 12 points in the last 11 minutes as the Slovenian giants came from behind to win at Armani Jeans Milano.
That was their first road triumph in the Euroleague in 21 months.
Jagodnik and Union Olimpija will attempt to clinch a third straight win in the competition on Thursday when they host Panathinaikos in a Group D battle of unbeatens.
