LJUBLJANA (Liga Telemach) - Helios Domzale stunned Union Olimpija 83-79 on their home court to create a three-way tie atop the Slovenian League Phase 2 standings.
It was the first time this season that Helios got the better of Olimpija and both teams - as well as Krka - now have a league-best 8-2 mark to top the table.
Dejan Delic had 18 points in the winning cause, with Milos Paravinja adding 15. Despite the defeat, Olimpija are still top of the able by virtue of their scoring differential.
The hosts trailed 41-36 at halftime but fought back and took the slimmest of leads, 73-72, when Jaka Klocubar - who had a game-high 21 points - buried a three-pointer with about four minutes remaining. However, Helios closed out the game thanks to the fine play down the stretch of Paravinja as well as that of Alvin Snow and Alekseh Laskevic.
Meanwhile, Krka recorded a massive 86-71 road win over Sentjur, to handed Damjan Novakovic's side only their second loss in seven games.
Goran Ikonic broke out for 22 points as the visitors were up 45-34 at halftime and held on to a comfortable lead the rest of the way.
Elsewhere, Zlatorog Lasko had too much firepower for Parklji as they cruised to an 85-60 win. Nejc Strnad paced the home team with 23 points and six steals. PRO-TEK Zasavje recorded their fourth win in Phase 2 byt beating Geoplin Slovan 74-68, leaving the latter winless in this stage of the competition.
