MIES - The National Member Federations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (MKD), Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia met on Wednesday at FIBA's headquarters under the leadership of FIBA Vice-President and FIBA Europe President Turgay Demirel to discuss the development of basketball in the Adriatic Region.

The findings that emerged from the meeting held at the House of Basketball are as follows:
    1. Favour the existence of a regional competition among clubs from these six national federations, which is essential to the development of basketball in the region.
    2. Declare that the six national federations will respect the results of their clubs in the current season of the regional competition.
    3. Together with FIBA Europe, support the creation of a new structure for a regional club competition for the 2015-16 season, whereby the six national federations and their clubs will play leading roles in the decision-making process. Decisions on the management of the new league will be taken as soon as the new structure is in place.

The meeting came on the back of discussions held in Europe over the future of club competitions at regional and pan-european level at the recent FIBA Europe Board.
