Hungary grabbed their first win since 1998 as they bounced back brilliantly from their opening day disappointment against France. Their frontcourt duo of Dorka Juhasz and Virag Takacs-Kiss posted stellar contributions to help their team take a 71-67 success against Nigeria.
Both ballers racked up stunning double-doubles, with Juhasz amassing 19 points and 16 rebounds, with frontcourt partner Takacs-Kiss collecting 17 points and 14 boards.
Before today, the most rebounds by a pair of teammates was 28; a combined 14 for Elena Baranova and 14 for Elena Khoudachova for Russia against Australia in 1998.

The forward was sensational and made history as the first player to ever record five consecutive double-doubles in the competition. Kone came up with 19 points after shooting a sparkling 78 percent from the field and pulled down 10 boards.
Germany also showed great heart and resilience to hit back too. Frieda Buhner was the star of the show as they recorded a first victory in 28 years after a big first day defeat. They beat Japan 74-58 in front of a sold out 8,367 crowd as the forward contributed 19 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.
Finally, Dominique Malonga had a shooting night to remember as she made 7 of 9 from the floor en-route to 14 points. The center also produced 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals as France rode past Korea 95-69.
