Former Hawaii basketball player Julian Sensley's travel-intensive summer continued this week after signing with a professional team in Italy.
Sensley enjoyed a brief stay at home before leaving on Monday to attend training camp with Curtiriso Casale Monferrato of Italy's Legadue.

"It's a nice situation for him. He made a very good deal for him financially and he's really excited about it," said Susanne Karsten, Sensley's mother.

After completing his three-year UH career in March, Sensley had a short stint with the Golden State Warriors in the Vegas Summer League. He left the team after playing two games to join the German national team as it prepared for the FIBA world championship.

The former Kalaheo standout played during the team's exhibition schedule and was the last player cut prior to the tournament in Japan.

Karsten said Sensley had met an agent while in Europe and chose the deal that offered playing time along with a pro contract.

"It was not easy for him, but he finally knows where he's going and knows what he's going to be doing and the role he'll be playing," Karsten said.
