KIGALI (Rwanda) - Pape Moussa Diallo made everyone sit up and take notice after landing MVP honors at the the Basketball Without Borders (BWB) Africa Camp in Kigali, Rwanda.
The Senegal player was the standout performer amongst the 30 high-school-age boys from 16 different nations who took to the court at the 21st edition of the renowned camp.
Taking place between August 23 and 26, it was the first time that FIBA and the NBA's global basketball development and community outreach program has been held in East Africa.
The campers were given the opportunity to work alongside former Charlotte Hornets Head Coach Charles Lee, Indiana Pacers Assistant Coach Lloyd Pierce, Minnesota Timberwolves Assistant Coach Micah Nori - as well as former NBA All-Rookie Second Team members Kerry Kittles and Marvin Williams.
Diallo underscored his potential with some impressive contributions throughout the duration of the event and was joined in the awards category by his compatriot Mouhamed Badiane who was handed the Defensive MVP accolade ,
The 3-point champion award ended up in the red-hot hands of South African sharp-shooter Enzokuhle Mweli who appeared for his country at the FIBA U18 AfroBasket 2024.
Meanwhile Mohamed Niane gained recognition as the Most Improved Player of the 2025 edition, with Chibueze Okechukwu rounding out the individual accolades by taking the Patrick Baumann Sportsmanship Award.
Camp MVP Pape Moussa Diallo headlined the All-Star lineup which also included fellow award winners Mouhamed Badiane and Enzokuhle Mweli.
They were joined by Sean Williams of Rwanda who excelled on home soil, having previously showed his offensive firepower on the U18 stage with a sensational 20.7 points per game last year.
Noah El Baze flew the flag for Morocco as he has done many times in both U16 and U18 FIBA youth competitions, Almoustapha Hama impressed and shone a spotlight on the tournament for Niger, while there were also spots for Egyptian duo Rami Magdy and Belal Sohaib who both played at the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2024.
