    DETROIT (NBA) - The Detroit Pistons have signed Sengalese center Cheick Samb, the team announced Tuesday.

    Samb, 22, spent last season with WTC Cornella in the Spanish LEB2, averaging 9.6 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3.1 blocks. This summer, he played in the NBA summer league, averaging 7.0 points and 5.4 rebounds.

    Samb was drafted 51st overall in the 2006 NBA draft by the Los Angeles Lakers, with the Pistons acquiring his rights in a trade for Maurice Evans.
