    SEN - Dallas exercise option on Diop

    DALLAS (NBA) - Senegal center DeSagana Diop is to stay with the Dallas Mavericks after the team exercised their contract option for the 2007-08 season. A native of Senegal, the 7-foot Diop averaged 2.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 81 games this season, including nine starts.

    DALLAS (NBA) - Senegal center DeSagana Diop is to stay with the Dallas Mavericks after the team exercised their contract option for the 2007-08 season.

    A native of Senegal, the 7-foot Diop averaged 2.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 81 games this season, including nine starts.

    He was 22nd in the NBA in blocks per game, splitting time in the pivot with Erick Dampier.

    In six seasons, Diop has averaged 1.9 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 355 games.

    The Mavericks signed him in 2005 after he spent four seasons with Cleveland.
