MIAMI (United States) – The FIBA Regional Office in the Americas has confirmed the host cities and tip-off times for the games of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Americas Qualifiers fourth window. Action will resume on August 27 and 31 with the start of the Second Round, in which 12 national teams will continue their fight to secure one of the seven available spots for the Americas at the premier event to be held in Qatar.
The game between Puerto Rico and Uruguay, originally scheduled for August 31, will now be played in Montevideo, Uruguay. Meanwhile, the game between Uruguay and Puerto Rico, originally scheduled for November 29, will now take place in San Juan, Puerto Rico. These changes are due to logistical reasons and mean that two games will be played in Uruguay during Window 4, while Puerto Rico will host the corresponding game during Window 5. In the Second Round, each team will play home and away against the three teams advancing from the other group, for a total of six games. Those games will be played across three windows scheduled for August 2026, November 2026 and February 2027, with each team playing two games per window. At the end of the six games for each team, the top three teams in each group, along with the best fourth-placed team, will earn a spot in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027.
