MUNICH (Germany) - Throughout the storied history of FIBA Women's EuroBasket, an elite group of just 33 players have claimed the honor of leading the tournament in scoring - each one leaving their mark on Europe's biggest stage.
Will we have a new name in the exclusive club in 2025 or will 2023 scoring champion Emma Meesseman add her name in the history books as the sixth player to have finished as the leading scorer at more than one edition of the competition?
The amazing Marija Veger-Demsar is the only player in history to have achieved the feat three times after coming out on top in 1968, 1970 and 1976. The former Yugoslavia ace also holds the record for most points in a tournament at 27.3 per game.
Meanwhile another Yugoslavia star Jasmina Perazic topped the scoring charts in 1983 and 1985.
The last player to do a double was FIBA Hall of Famer Margo Dydek in 1999 and 2001, with her Polish compatriot Romualda Gruszczynska-Olesiewicz also managing to top the scorers list in 1956 and 1958.
The only other player to have done it more than once is Dagmar Hubalkova of Czechoslovakia in 1954 and 1960.
