EDINBURGH (Scottish League) -Troon Tornadoes defeated Edinburgh Kings 79-65 to retain the Scottish Cup at Meadowbank, helped by an outstanding display from two brothers, Andy and Tom Pearson
EDINBURGH (Scottish League) -Troon Tornadoes defeated Edinburgh Kings 79-65 to retain the Scottish Cup at Meadowbank, helped by an outstanding display from two brothers, Andy and Tom Pearson.
Andy, who was overlooked for the Commonwealth Games team last month, scored 26 points to outshine Tom (15 pts), the game's dominant rebounder, and another Games team member Dan Wardrope (18pts).
Former Melbourne Tiger Brett Jefferies was easily Kings' top man with 22. Edinburgh Kool Kats defeated holders St Mirren 76-68 to take the women's trophy, helped by a great 22 points from former American college star Charlotte Nelson- King and 20 from captain Hazel Howson.
Together with the junior women and cadet men that took the City of Edinburgh collection to three for the weekend and a magnificent seven for the season wih four national league titles already bagged.
