EDIMBURGH (National Team) - Scotland's national basketball teams have begun a new phase with the appointment of two esteemed Head Coaches.
Ian Gordon and Iain MacLean will lead the Cadette Women and Senior Men teams for the next two years.
Ian Gordon's return to the international fold as Cadet Women (under 16) Head Coach is part of his life-long commitment to basketball. Ian has previously coached both the Scotland Senior Women and Men's national teams; coached professionally with the former MIM team; and refereed internationally for FIBA.
Ian brings to the post a great knowledge of long-term player development principles, vast international experience and huge respect from the basketball community.
Iain McLean also makes a return to international basketball in his new role as Head Coach of Scotland's Senior Men.
A hugely respected figure in Scottish basketball, Iain has a storied basketball history having represented both Scotland and Great Britain; played NCAA Division 1 college basketball in the United States on full scholarship; and played professional with the former MIM team and the Scottish Rocks in the British Basketball League.
Iain brings to the post great partnership building skills, high-level coaching ability and a great knowledge of Scottish, Great Britain and international basketball.
Simon Turner
