    Kigali (17th U18 Afrobasket for Men) -  Nigeria U18 Junior National Team began its quest for a place at the 2011 FIBA World Championship for U19 slated for Latvia with an 80-62 points win over Mozambique in its group A opening game of the 17th FIBA Africa Championship for U18 Men at the gymnasium of the Amahoro Stadium, Kigali, Rwanda.

    Also in group A, hosts Rwanda had a narrow 66-63 points victory over Algeria.

    In group B, Congo had the better of Mali with a 72-67 points victory, defending champions Egypt began its quest to retain its title with a 76-62 points win over Gabon in another group B game, while Cote d’Ivoire going down by 41-61 points to Angola.

    The Coaches Emmanuel Odah and Ogoh Odaudu tutored Nigeria cadet will file out against host Rwanda at 18H00 local time Saturday.

    Other games billed for Saturedy include Mozambique against Congo in a group A pairing at 12H00; Gabon will have its hands full against Angola in a group B game at 14H00; Algeria and Mali will entertain the crowd at 16H00 in group A while Tunisia will take to the floor against defending champion Egypt at 20H00 in group-B.

    Ivory Coast we handed a bye in view of Zimbabwe's no show.
