Kigali (U18 Afrobasket for Men) - Defending champions of the FIBA Africa Championship for U18 Men, Egypt are through to the final of this year’s edition following an 82-40 win over Mozambique in the second semi-final of the continent youth Nations Cup.

The young Egyptians – the only team yet to drop a game since the championship began in Kigali, Rwanda last weekend – are clearly the favourites to lift the trophy for the second consecutive time as they will take on Tunisia in Sunday’s final.

Pundits have predicted an Egyptian victory based on the strength of the young Pharoahs who had beaten the Tunisians 96-62 in the group stages.

Tunisia beat Mali 69-58 in the first semi-final.

Both finalists have thus booked a place in next year’s FIBA U19 World Championship for Men in Latvia.
