Dirk Nowitzki has enough to worry about with his bum left ankle. He doesn't have to worry about any headhunting by Utah's Andrei Kirilenko.
The last time the Dallas Mavericks and Utah Jazz played, Nowitzki planted a flagrant foul on Kirilenko, which ended up costing Nowitzki a one-game suspension.
Kirilenko said Wednesday there is no lingering ill will between him and Nowitzki.
"You [the media] are looking for that," Kirilenko said before the Jazz worked out at American Airlines Center. "There is not going to be any revenge.
"It happens. Especially when you take a look at the replay. He wanted to stop me, but he was kind of off-balance. I was definitely off-balance. It happens. At the moment it happened, he came up to me and said he was sorry."
Nowitzki's foul in the game at Utah came when Kirilenko was going to the basket. After that game, Nowitzki said he was simply trying to avoid a potential three-point play.
"It might look horrible on the TV," the 6-9 Kirilenko said. "But you know, I've known Dirk for five to 10 years. You know he's not a dirty guy. He plays hard, but it would never be his intention to hurt somebody."
Jazz coach Jerry Sloan said the foul has long since been forgotten.
"As far as I am concerned, it is," he said. "But we're like everybody else. When the game is going on, we think every foul is flagrant. If my guy gets touched, I think it's a flagrant foul."
