MOSCOW (Superleague) - Spartak-Primorye of the Primorskiy Region have extended the contract of 26-year-old Lithuanian centre Tomas Nagis by a year.
Nagis started last season as one of the team's on-court leaders but fractured his foot in February bringing a premature end to his campaign.
Nagis told the official club website: "I'm very glad to play for the club next season, where I like everything.
“I've recovered completely from that serious injury. I'm sure that we'll qualify for the play-offs (of the Russian Superleague) next season. We have all the key players in the team and I'm looking forward the start of new season.
Spartak-Primorye chairman Sergei Kliger was equally enthusiastic, saying: "Last season showed that Spartak is another team without Nagis. He adapted very quickly in the Russian Superleague and in Vladivostok as well.
“He is a high-level professional and I'm glad that we could keep him in our team. Tomas can also play successfully at the position of powerful forward.”
