VLADIVOSTOK (Russian Superleague) - Spartak Primorie have extended the contract of 26-year-old Lithuanian center Tomas Nagis for another year.
Nagis was one of the team's leaders last season but suffered a fracture to his foot in February which brought a premature end to his season.
"I'm very glad to play for the Vladivostok club next season, where I like everything," Nagis told the club's official website.
"I'm sure that we'll qualify for the Superleague play-offs next season. We have all the key players in the team.
"I've recovered completely from that serious injury and I'm looking forward to the start of the new season."
Club chairman Sergei Kliger admits Nagis is a crucial player to the team and believes his decision to re-sign means they have a strong squad for next season.
"Last season showed that Spartak is a different team without Nagis," he added.
"He adapted very quickly to the Russian Superleague and in Vladivostok as well. I know him as a high-level professional and I'm glad that we could keep him in our team.
"Now we have Nagis, Virgil Stanescu, Roman Bulganin and young Daniil Solovyev at the position of center. Tomas can also play well as a power forward."
