MOSCOW (FIBA World Championship) - Timofey Mozgov has been cleared to play for Russia at the FIBA World Championship after getting the insurance through on his New York Knicks contract.
The 7ft 1in center, who is about to begin his rookie season in the NBA after four years with BC Khimky, will begin training immediately. Meanwhile, David Blatt has made two cuts to his squad, reducing their numbers to 17.
Gregory Shukhovtsev and Victor Zvarykin have both left camp.
"We want to thank Shukhovtsev and Zvarykin for their work in helping the team," said Blatt.
"They have worked hard and I hope the experience they gained will help them in their careers. "I think they have a good future and their time with the national team is only beginning."
