MOSCOW (FIBA World Championship/FIBA World Championship for Women) - Russia have named captains for both their men's and women's squads ahead of the FIBA World Championship and the FIBA World Championship for Women.
At a special celebration for both squads in Moscow, BC Khimky forward Sergei Monya was tabbed as captain of the men's squad while Sparta guard Ilona Korstin will lead the women into action.
David Blatt's men's squad currently numbers 17 as they move into final stages of their preparations for the FIBA World Championship which tips off on August 28.
There are still 22 in the women's squad, as the FIBA World Championship for Women does not begin until September 23.
