MOSCOW (Superleague) - Khimki have signed American guard Daniel Ewing on a two-year deal.

The former Duke player was released by NBA franchise the Los Angeles Clippers in June despite making over 60 appearances last season.

The 24-year-old spent two seasons at the Clippers, featuring in 127 games and averaging 13.2 minutes, 3.4 points and 1.2 rebounds per game.

Khimki head coach Kjastusis Kemzura told the club's official website: "Our team needed such a player - a versatile guard, young, quick and powerful.

"He can play either at the position of guard or attacking defender. We know he has a good shot since playing in university basketball.

"He is a pleasant guy and moreover he would like to prove himself in European basketball."

Kemzura added in Sport-Express: "Ewing visited Russia last Autumn and he could see basketball of high level and good conditions for living and work.

"Daniel would like to establish himself in Europe as he did not get enough playing time in the NBA."

Kemzura also revealed that Italian guard Gianmarco Pozzecco has left the club.

"I spoke with him recently and he said that he hadn't decided yet either to continue or finish his career," said Kemzura.

Meanwhile, CSK-VVS-Samara have signed Izrael international centre Yaniv Green from Maccabi Tel-Aviv on a one-year contract with the option of a 12-month extension.
