MOSCOW (Superleague) - Alexei Savrasenko and Thomas van den Spiegel have signed new deals with CSKA Moscow.
Russia center Savrasenko has signed a four-year contract extension with last season's Euroleague winners while Belgian international Van den Spiegel, who also plays at center, has put his signature to a new one-year deal.
"We're glad that we've prolonged our relationship with the best center in Russia (Savrasenko), a player who is at his peak right now," CSKA vice-president Andrei Vatutin told the club's official website.
"Alexei has been playing for CSKA for four years and he's progressed a lot during that period.
"Europe could see a new Savrasenko during the Euroleague Final Four in Prague (in April), and we hope that he will perform at the same level in the future."
Savrasenko added: "I'm thankful to the club that they've offered me a new contract.
"I'm glad to stay in the team and I hope to be of big benefit to the club in the near future."
Vatutin added that the Russian champions will not be making any more new signings ahead of the new Superleague season.
"Our scouting is over for the next season," he said. "This year we were not the main newsmakers in the transfer market but we signed all the players we were focused on."
Last year's MVP Theodoros Papaloukas and Vasily Zavoruev have both signed three-year contract extensions already this summer.
CSKA will start their preparations for the new season on August 29.
