MOSCOW (Russian Cup) - CSKA Moscow edged out Unics Kazan 80-74 in a closely-contested final to claim the Russian Cup.

CSKA had not won the tournament since 2007 and reclaimed it in spectacular fashion by beating none other than the Cup holders themselves.

The result was also a measure of revenge for the Moscow giants who were knocked out by Kazan in the semi-final last year.

Ramunas Siskauskas and JR Holden sealed the win from the free-throw line, combining to hit all six attempts in the game's last 30 seconds

Viktor Khryapa had a now typical all-around game, finishing with 14 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and three steals. Sasha Kaun had 14 and grabbed six boards while Siskauskas and Holden finished with 13 and 11 respectively.

Terrell Lyday was the game's high-scorer with 21 points for Unics and Macej Lampe added 18 to go along with seven rebounds. Kresimir Loncar had 13 points.

CSKA jumped out to a 25-19 lead but they were never able to push it as Unics stayed within striking distance the rest of the way.

Spartak SPB squeezed past BC Khimki 76-74 in the third place game.
