MOSCOW (SUPERLEAGUE A) - CSKA Moscow beat BC Khimki Moscow region 76-60 on the road to complete a 3-0 sweep of their best-of-five games finals series and claim their eighth Russian league title in a row in the process.
Ramunas Siskauskas could not be stopped as he finished with a game-high 29 points and connected on all 10 of his attempts from two-point range. Trajan Langdon had 13 and Nikita Kurkanov chipped in with 11.
Keith Langford paced Khimki with 18 points and Raul Lopez added 10.
CSKA got off to a great start with Langdon and Siskauskas combining to score all their points for an early 14-2 lead and Khimki were slow to get their offense going.
A Langford three-pointer and four quick points by Carlos Cabezas saw them recover to get within 25-18 by the end of the first quarter.
However, Kurbanov then took charge in the second period, with a little help from JR Holden and Dmitry Sokolov as the defending champions went in at the break up 43-30.
The pair of Langdon and Siskaukas pushed CSKA's advantage to 52-39 early in the third quarter.
Khimki used an unconventional backcourt pairing of Spanish point guards Lopez and Cabezas to good effect to get within 57-49.
However, Zoran Planinic and Siskauskas would then take over in the final quarter, putting the finishing touches as CSKA cruised to claim their 17th overall league title since the Russian League began in 1992.
