South Africa’s Women’s Coordinator Zanele Ngwenya and his technical staff trimmed the ladies squad down to 15 players as well last week at the camp held at the Mangaung indoor center in Bloemfontein.

Requelh Molema, Sophie Dlamini, Ellen Mutlautse, Jermaine Kermis, Tukie Motisele, Aluta Ngqoyiya, Lungile Ntshweni, Jasmine Van Wyk, Cleo Macholo, Philadelphia Khoabane, Bulelwa Zondi, Seipati Mokhathi, Nosipho Njokweni, Lebo Mashao, and Sophie Ngobeni have been selected for the next training camp for the ladies.

The next National team camp will be at the High Performance Center in Pretoria from the 5th of February until the 9th of February where the final 12 players will be selected.
The final camp will be held at the HPC from the 19th of February until the teams leave for Zimbabwe.

The All Africa Games qualifiers and the African Championship qualifiers are due to start in Zimbabwe on the 24th of February. However, this clashes with the date of the final of the Professional Basketball League which is supposed to occur on the same day at Mandeville in Johannesburg. South Africa has proposed that the qualifiers be postponed until the 26th or 27th of February so that the qualifiers do not interfere with the PBL final.
