SHENZHEN (China) - The stage is set for the FIBA Women’s Asia Cup 2025, with all 16 participating teams confirming their rosters ahead of tip-off. The competition promises to showcase the best of women’s basketball in the region, with powerhouse nations, rising contenders and debutants all vying for glory.
The tournament, which runs from July 13 to 20, is a crucial part of the women’s basketball calendar, serving as a qualifier for future global events and offering national teams a platform to test their mettle on the continental stage.

Division A
Group A: China, New Zealand, Korea, Indonesia
Group B: Japan, Australia, Philippines, Lebanon
Division B
Group A: Chinese Taipei, Kazakhstan, India, Tahiti
Group B: Iran, Thailand, Mongolia, Cook Islands
There are eight teams for Division A drawn into two groups of four with each country playing the others in a round-robin format. The Group Phase will begin on July 13 and conclude on July 16.
A knockout-system will be used after the preliminary round with the losing teams playing in a classification game.
The first-placed team of each group qualifies to the Semi-finals while the second-and third-placed teams play in a Qualification to Semi-finals round, which take place on July 18.
The Semi-finals will be played on July 19, while the Finals and 3rd Place Games will be played on July 20.
The eighth-placed Division A team at the end of the competition will be placed in Division B for the 2027 FIBA Women's Asia Cup.
Division B mirrors the same competition format as Division A, with eight teams competing for promotion. The winner of Division B will earn a coveted spot in Division A for the 2027 FIBA Women’s Asia Cup. For emerging programs and returning sides, this division is a key opportunity to climb the continental ladder and test themselves against Asia’s elite in the next cycle.
