A preview of the FIBA 3x3 Edmonton

EDMONTON (Canada) - After a brief breather, the FIBA 3x3 World Tour 2025 journeys for the first time this season to North America as the action explodes in Edmonton on August 2-3.

Top seed Ub (SRB) have never looked better after claiming a three-peat of season titles in Hong Kong, in one of their greatest ever triumphs having lost legendary Dejan Majstorovic to injury in the quarters.

Ub's quest for a fourth straight title starts off with tough tasks against Antonio Ralat-led Carolina (PUR) and Phoenix (USA) in Pool A.

Second seed Amsterdam RABOBANK (NED) will be looking to rebound after shockingly failing to make Day Two in Hong Kong. But their bid for revenge will be strengthened by the return of superstar Worthy de Jong, who will be out to end Amsterdam's title-less season.

Amsterdam are in Pool B, but it really should be renamed the 'Group of Death' with dangerous teams Partizan (SRB) and Washington DC (USA) more than capable of giant-killing runs.

Third seed Miami's (USA) triumph at the Utsunomiya Opener now feels like a long time ago, with the Americans in the midst of a slump having crashed out early in Hong Kong. Miami will face a Pool C Blockbuster against Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy (MGL), while Caracas (VEN) is the other team in the group.

Pool D is highlighted by a blockbuster between Raudondvaris Hoptrans (LTU) and Chongming in what will be an epic battle between superstars Aurelijus Pukelis and Karlis Lasmanis, who will be reunited with his partner-in-crime Nauris Miezis.

Sint Maarten (NED) are the third team in Pool D and there is much intrigue over the new Dutch kids on the block.
