    QUEBRADILLAS (Baloncesto Superior Nacional) - Piratas de Quebradillas opened the BSN semi-finals with a pair of impressive wins over Capitanes de Arecibo to take a 2-0 lead, while Cangrejeros de Santurce stunned defending champions Vaqueros de Bayamón on their home court.

    Piratas edged out Capitanes 84-82 in Game 1 thanks to a combined 47 points by CJ Bruton and Joel Jones.

    They won Game 2 more convincingly, crushing their opponents 125-100 thanks to some dead eye shooting. They made 29 of 39 attempts from two-point range, hit on 13 of 18 tries from beyond the arc and missed only two of 30 free-throws.

    Peter John Ramos exploded for 35, Jones finished chipped in with 21 while Bruton and Shawn Redhage added 19 each.

    Piratas led 28-23 at the end of the first quarter and stretched that advantage to 63-49 by halftime and were never under any real threat.

    Despite having more depth, Capitanes could not stop their opponents' offensive onslaught. Guillermo Diaz had 26 points and Larry Ayuso added 24 in the loss.

    Meanwhile, Cangrejeros de Santurce won Game 1 on the road against Bayamon 81-72 thanks to a great team effort, especially on the defensive end, as they shut down prolific scorer Christian Dalmau.

    Walter Hodge had 21 points, Roberto Nieves added 18 for Cangrejeros.
