    PUR – National league to tip off March 4

    SAN JUAN (BSN) - The Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) calendar for the 2010 season was approved by the owners in their last meeting. The Puerto Rican league is scheduled to start on Thursday 4th March. A total of 10 teams will participate this season.     SAN JUAN (BSN) - The Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) calendar for the 2010 season was approved by the owners in their last meeting. The Puerto Rican league is scheduled to start on Thursday 4th March.

    A total of 10 teams will participate this season. They are: Atleticos de San German, Caciques de Humacao, Capitanes de Arecibo, Cangrejeros de Santurce, Indios de Mayagüez, Piratas de Quebradillas, Leones de Ponce, Gallitos de Isabela, Mets de Guaynabo and Vaqueros de Bayamon.

    The opening game of the 2010 season will see Atleticos de San German visit defending champions Vaqueros de Bayamon on 4th March. It is the only fixture on that day.

    The following day, Mayagüez play host to Arecibo, Ponce travels to Quebradillas, Isabela faces Humacao and Santurce goes to Guaynabo.

    The season will consist of 29 games and only five teams (Arecibo, Bayamon, Isabela, Ponce and Quebradillas) will have 15 home games.

    Two teams changed their names for the upcoming season: Humacao, formerly known as the Grises, are now the Caciques while Guaynabo will be referred to as the Mets after being known as Conquistadores.
