CAGUAS (BSN) - Criollos from Caguas and Santurce-based Cangrejeros are one win away from setting up a final meeting in the Puerto Rican BSN league.
Criollos lead Leones from Ponce 3-2 in their semi-final, after coming from 2-1 down with two victories at the weekend.
Saturday saw 24 points from Bobby Brannen help Leonel Arill's side level the tie with a 104-75 win.
And on Sunday night, Criollos claimed a victory that could be crucial if they make it into the finals, finally winning in their opponents' back yard at the third attempt.
They achieved it in style, outscoring their hosts 94-77 thanks to another 28 points from Brannen and a 25-point contribution from Filiberto Rivera.
Leones and Criollos meet again in Caguas, where the top seeds know victory will seal their spot in the last stage of the championship.
Cangrejeros, meanwhile, enjoy a more comfortable advantage, having taken a 3-1 lead over reigning champions Capitanes.
Cangrejeros quickly took a 2-0 lead but Capitanes reduced the gap on Friday by winning Game Three 91-70, with Angel 'Buster' Figueroa in superb form with 45 points.
But on Sunday, with Capitanes looking to level the tie, Cangrejeros celebrated a 83-77 victory which means Flor Melendez's team will be in the finals if they win Game Five on Monday night.
