SAN JUAN (Basketball Without Borders) - Puerto Rico is to host North America's Basketball Without Borders (BWB) event, it was announced on Tuesday.
The jointly sponsored FIBA and NBA event is a basketball training camp for children which aims to promote friendship, health, education and prevention against AIDS.

The camp is scheduled to take place from July 17 to 20 at the Roberto Celemente coliseum in San Juan, with Nike and Spalding as BWB marketing partners.

Puerto Rico superstar Carlos Arroyo will be one of the coaches at the camp, as well as Phoenix Suns guard Raja Bell, Golden State Warriors center Adonal Foyle, Utah Jazz guard Gordan Giricek, San Antonio Spurs forward Sean Marks, Boston Celtics guard Delonte West and former NBA and Puerto Rico player Daniel Santiago.

"I'm extremely excited about returning to my home country for such an incredible programme," said Arroyo, who will be playing for his country at the FIBA World Championship this summer.

The first edition of BWB was organised in July 2001 and since then, 120 NBA players and coaches have taught more than 700 young players from more than 100 countries.
