    Former Central Connecticut basketball star Javier Mojica has been named to the Puerto Rico National Basketball Team.

    Mojica, who led the Blue Devils to the 2007 NEC Championship, is one of 12 players who will compete for Puerto Rico in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Athens, Greece from July 14-20 for the right to earn a spot in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

    Mojica, a guard, averaged 16.8 points and 7.1 rebounds per game in 2006-07, his senior season in New Britain. He led the school to the NEC championship and the NCAA tournament, and was named the conference's player of the year.

    Central Connecticut coach Howie Dickenman called Mojica's addition to the team an incredible achievement.
