LUANDA (FIBA Africa Champions Cup 2017) – Angolan giants Primeiro de Agosto face their biggest test at the ongoing FIBA Africa Champions Cup 2017 when they take on Mozambican side Ferroviario de Maputo in a Group B tie on Tuesday at the Kilamba Arena.
Jaime Corvilha’s side will not only be looking to avoid defeat against a new-look Ferroviario de Maputo outfit but to also avenge their shock loss to last year’s finalists at the Zone 6 Qualifiers last month in Botswana.
The battle will be between familiar faces with Mozambican center Leia Dongue in charge of the paint against her country-mates who know her all too well and the reverse is true.
However, a back court battle between Primeiro de Agosto's Rosa Gala and Anabela Cossa of Ferroviario de Maputo will also make for a good sight.
Meanwhile, in Group B DC Motema Pembe will be eyeing their first victory at the tournament when they take on Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) who are also yet to win a game at the tournament.
It will be the same case when Equity Bank Hawks from Kenya, who have lost all their three games take on AS Vita in a do or die encounter that will determine who will make it to the quarterfinals from Group A that has five teams.
Nigeria's First Bank face GS Petroliers of Algeria in Group A with the latter hoping to upset the pre-tournament favorites that have been perfect so far with two wins out of two games.
