MIES (Switzerland) - The journey to the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 gets underway this week, with the European Qualifiers continuing through eight exciting matchups on Friday night.
The opening day of action was on Thursday, with European powerhouses Lithuania and Serbia staving off upset, while FIBA EuroBasket 2025 medalists Türkiye and Greece had no issues as they won their openers.
With every result carrying through to the Second Round, each game has the potential to make or break a nation's hopes of eventually reaching the World Cup.
