    Puerto Rico announce 12-player squad

    Puerto Rico announced its 12-player roster for the FIBA Women’s Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament 2019, which will be played November 14-17.

    SAN JUAN (Puerto Rico) - Puerto Rico announced its 12-player roster for the FIBA Women’s Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament 2019, which will be played November 14-17.

    The Puerto Rican team will be in Group A, which will be played in the city of Edmonton, Canada, and there they will face the Dominican Republic, Canada, and Cuba (in that order).

    Most of the players featured on the list recently participated in the FIBA Women’s AmeriCup in San Juan. Debuting with the team will be Lozada and Torres.

    “It's a talented team, with two new members that contribute a lot. The goal of this tournament is to be able to advance and qualify to the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in February 2020. We will face a powerful team Canada, and teams from the Dominican Republic and Cuba that continue to evolve,” said Puerto Rican coach Batista.

    The first two teams of the group will advance to the FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament in February.
