    Argentina announce 12-player roster for FIBA Women's Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament in Bahia Blanca

    Argentina announced today its 12-player roster for the FIBA Women’s Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament, which will be played from November 14 to 17 in Bahía Blanca, Argentina and in Edmonton, Canada.

    BUENOS AIRES (Argentina) - Argentina announced today its 12-player roster for the FIBA Women’s Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament, which will be played from November 14 to 17 in Bahía Blanca, Argentina and in Edmonton, Canada.

    Leo Costa, coach of "Las Gigantes", selected the 12 players that will make up the final roster for the tournament, and also invited to the team practices four players that recently participated in the last FIBA Women’s U19 Basketball World Cup in Thailand.

    The four players invited to the training camp are Candela Gentinetta, Camila Suárez, Victoria Gauna and Sofía Acevedo.

    Argentina will host Group B at the Dow Center in Bahía Blanca and will start the tournament against Colombia on November 14. The “Gigantes” will then face the USA on November 16 and Brazil on November 17.

    Argentina will begin training camp on November 4 and will travel to Bahia Blanca on November 10.

    Group A of the FIBA Women’s Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament will be held at the Edmonton EXPO Center, with the participation of the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Puerto Rico and hosts Canada.

    The top two teams from each group will qualify to the FIBA Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament in February 2020.
