GENEVA (FIBA Organizer) - FIBA Organizer, the total basketball competition management and website solution, has been translated into French and Spanish, thus making itself available to basketball associations and clubs in 58 additional countries. French is the official language in 33 countries and Spanish is the second most spoken tongue in the world with 25 nations using it as their primary language.

The FIBA Organizer initiative was launched in November 2006 to provide SportingPulse's award-winning software, free of charge, to every organization affiliated to the International Basketball Federation. FIBA currently counts with 213 member national federations.

"FIBA Organizer is capable of connecting every basketball player in the world and the launching of its French and Spanish versions will massively increase its global reach", said FIBA Secretary General Patrick Baumann.

The FIBA Organizer software package incorporates all facets of basketball administration, such as competition management (schedules, results and standings), membership database (clubs, players, coaches and referees) and websites. In addition to improving communications between federations, associations and clubs and players, FIBA Organizer can save administrators valuable time through improved efficiencies and can help raise extra revenue by creating unique sponsorship opportunities.

The FIBA Organizer initiative represents the first time that any sport's governing body has commissioned the development of a universal management and communications system.

The English, French and Spanish versions of the FIBA Organizer can be downloaded at www.fibaorganizer.com. FIBA Organizer's users have a 90-day free trial period. Once it has run out, they must apply for a license in order to continue using the system. There is no fee to use FIBA Organizer or for the license itself. To obtain a license, please send the name of your organization and country to Wolfram Klug, FIBA's IT Manager: klug@fiba.com.
