FIBA Secretary General and IOC Member Patrick Baumann said: “With only two months to go, everyone is getting very excited about the FIBA U19 World Championship in Latvia.

“With many future stars of the game certain to be present, this is a great sporting event for everyone, whether seasoned fans or people simply interested in getting to know a bit more about the sport. Already at EuroBasket Women in 2009 did Latvia do a great job in hosting international basketball and I am sure that once again we will have full and passionate arenas setting the scene perfectly for this exciting top class basketball event.”
