BUCHAREST (Romania) - After a stirring performance at the World Cup, a confident Poland will have title ambitions at the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series Bucharest Stop on July 11-13.
Let's preview all the action of the eighth stop on this season's Women's Series.
The Favorites
Poland came so close to a first World Cup medal after a barnstorming run in Ulaanbaatar ended at the hands of powerhouse Canada in the bronze medal game. But Poland should be mighty proud of their effort as they continued to rise in status having finished semi-finalists in two Women's Series Stops this season.
Aleksandra Zięmborska was lights out at the World Cup and the 25-year-old emerging superstar will be surely eying the MVP.
Top seed China will be extremely motivated after a disappointing World Cup campaign. Their New Gen have had ups and downs, but if they can find their semi-final form from Baku then China will be a title threat.
France have been one of the major powerhouses of women's 3x3, but it's been a slow start to 2025 for the former World Cup champs. Their only appearance on the Women's Series was an early exit in Marseille, while France were knocked out by Poland in the quarters of the World Cup.
But France can ignite their season in Bucharest and will look to supremely talented Eve Wembanyama to get them rolling.
The Field
This is a deep draw with CS Rapid Bucharest (ROU) fancying their chances on home soil. They will need their home fans to give them a boost, with the Romanian team doing a tough back-to-back after also playing in Orleans earlier in the week.
Singapore are a country that has put a lot of resources into 3x3 and that dedication is starting to pay off with their women's team rising up the ladder. No.3 seed Singapore have made a couple of quarter-final appearances this season, with Jermaine Lim Jia Ying becoming a bonafide bucket getter.
Former World Cups champs Italy are always a threat especially with legendary Raelin D'Alie still capable of performing tricks with the Wilson, while Philippines have their own magician with Kaye Pingol a crowd pleaser whenever she steps on the half-court.
