LYON-VILLEURBANNE (France) - The importance of Alexis Peterson to Germany's dreams in Berlin were underlined after becoming only the third player in tournament history to hit double-digits in assists during a FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup Qualifying Tournament game.
Powering past Korea 76-49 in Lyon-Villeurbanne, Peterson highlighted her experience and quality in a big way, stepping off the court having handed out 10 assists.
This is the joint second-highest tally in history along with Korea's Danbi Kim who also completed the feat four years ago.
Only Siyu Wang of China has handed out more with a stellar 15 dimes against France in the first edition of the Qualifying Tournaments, meaning Peterson has entered a very exclusive club.
Meanwhile her display for Germany is also a reflection of her oustanding club campaign with Villeneuve d'Ascq LM, who she inspired to the EuroCup Women Semi-Finals.
