PHI - Only two teams miss for FIBA Asia Championship

TIANJIN (FIBA Asia Championship for Men) - After the recent conclusion of the 8th South East Asian Championship, 14 of the 16 teams that will compete at the 2009 FIBA Asia Championship in Tianjin City in China from 6th to 16th August 2009, are known:

Philippines Champion

The South East Asian Championship, that was played from 6th – 9th June in Medan, Indonesia brought the following results:

1. Philippines

2. Indonesia

3. Malaysia

4. Singapore


Therefore the Philippines and Indonesia have qualified for the FIBA Asia Championship.

The draw that will determine the composition of the four groups of four teams will be held on 17 June in Tianjin City in China.

The FIBA Asia Championship will qualify 3 teams to the 2010 FIBA World Championship in Turkey
